GETTING TO LA PAZ

  • Flights: You have two options to choose from. Fly directly to La Paz or fly to Los Cabos.
Search for flights on the Inter Net: Kayak.com, Travelocity.com, Orbitz.com etc.

  • Flights to La Paz (LAP): Alaska Airlines offers a direct flight from LAX to LAP.
Alternatively you can fly to Mexico City with several major carriers and then get a local flight with one of the Mexican Airlines – currently Aero Mexico and Volaris.

  • Flights to Los Cabos (SJD): There are many airlines to choose from that have direct flights from Mexico City and several major US cities – check the Internet

  • Taxi to your hotel: From La Paz airport you can take a private cab for $45US approximately or a shared taxi van shuttle for around $15US each.

  • Local Bus or Coach from Los Cabos to La Paz: Currently the best option is to take a shuttle coach directly from the airport to downtown La Paz (3 hours). You can book the shuttle in advance from its website: www.shutletolapaz.com Cost approx. $26US one way. Please note that the coach only runs twice a day: 2.30pm and 5.00pm (Check this information is still current in the web) . If the times are not convenient then take a taxi shuttle ($15US) to El Aguila Bus Terminal in downtown San Jose (half hour). Buses run every hour on the hour until 8.00pm.

Alternatively by prior arrangement you can book a taxi from SJD to La Paz (280US + min group size 6)
Helpful Hint: If you are booked on a tour that includes a hotel on the first night make sure you take the name of the hotel AND directions with you.

  • BOA office location: Locate the Malecon (sea promenade) in La Paz. Then drive/walk north in the direction of Pichilingue, you will have the ocean (La Paz Bay) on your left. As you leave town you will cross over a bridge where there is a little public garden with a small wind mill on your left. Continue for another 150 meters and you will see on your right a white Moorish style building called Hotel El Moro. Keep going, cross the street, pass a residence and a local restaurant (Moyeyos) and you will see our BOA Kayak outfitters sign on a two story salmon colored building with a palm tree roof, palapa style. Drive into our parking lot or walk into our office. Allow 5-10 minutes driving time or 30-40 minutes walking time from downtown La Paz.
